Nexium (Esomeprazole) Capsules

Nexium (esomeprazole) is a prescription medication used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other conditions caused by increased acid production in the stomach. It belongs to a class of drugs known as PPI receptor modulators (PRMs). It works by blocking the release of stomach acid, thus reducing the amount of stomach acid that the stomach produces. Nexium is available in a 20mg strength capsule, which reduces the risk of side effects. Nexium is also used to treat conditions that occur during or after a meal, such as acid reflux, heartburn, and acid reflux. Nexium is typically taken once or twice daily, depending on the condition being treated.

Nexium is important in managing conditions such as heartburn, acid reflux, heartburn caused by excess stomach acid, and acid and heartburn caused by lack of acid in the stomach. It can be taken with or without food. Nexium is also used to treat conditions that affect the esophagus, such as esophageal cancer. Nexium should be taken at least one hour before or two hours after a meal, as it can reduce the amount of acid that the stomach produces. Nexium can also be taken with food to decrease stomach upset. If you take Nexium and have a meal, it should be taken with a full glass of water. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take two doses at once.
